Yet Another Day at the Beach

As I have stated before, this year our family has enjoyed our days at the beach. We usually go on Sunday afternoons following our Sunday Services.

An interesting phenomenon has taken place this year as Jay is no longer afraid of the ocean. It used to be that Jay would just sit and play in the sand, but this year he has come 180 degrees and is usually the first one in the water. Today the waves were larger than usual at Rocky Neck State Park, so Jay and Sam were enjoying frolicking in the waves.

Here they are both surrounded by other kids.
Here he is about to catch a wave...

And another...Now Sam is floating around...too far from shore to ride a wave in, but she enjoyed the bobbing motionSam was more into making a sand castle earlier in the day, despite the tide coming in washing away her creations. Jay was enjoying the water so much, I am glad I brought the camera to document it.

All of this is making more excited for our vacation in just a few short weeks to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. There are decent size waves there and the kids should be ocean pro's by week's end there.

Great photos of the kids. I'm sure you will all enjoy your time at Rehoboth, which is a very nice beach.

If you get a chance to venture further south some time, you may want to check out the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Go beyond Nags Head (which is nice but crowded) and head to Cape Hatteras. The beaches are clean, the water is warm and the scenery is gorgeous.

Once a kid loves the water it is hard to get them out water. Thank you for the pics.

I concur about Hatteras.

Great to have the update.

I can only dream of such warm waters! We went swimming a couple of times on our vacation but despite being told it was "warm" it was still relatively fridgid. Them's the break when you live so far north.
