Sam & Jay

I apologize for the delay. The other day Tracy said to me, "when are you going to write about your kids?" It worked out great to write now.

Yesterday afternoon, Elaine left home to take our corps Youth Councils delegation to the Sunrise (Frank Davis) Resort in Moodus, Connecticut. I haven't been there in 15 years and have no desires to return, but I digress.

That left me home with Sam and Jay by myself. In the past being home with young children was a little disconcerting They are older now and take care of themselves rather well. Friday evening commenced with the typical Camuti movie night. That involves the kids taking turns picking out videos to watch. Fortunately Sammi fell asleep early, but Jay insisted on watching The A-team, Disney Sing along Songs, and Madagascar. The latter getting over at 11:15 PM. Jay was still awake! I turned it off a bit, he fussed, but soon fell asleep.

We woke up and went to McDonald's for Breakfast. Following that, I had read in the paper that there was going to be a small scale Civil War Re-enactment in town. I drove by and it consisted of a a dozen men dressed in Union Army uniforms sitting around a fire in front of a tent. I declined stoppping. We decided to go home and do yard work. Sam tried to help, but her friends swayed her away from Dad.

My kids are great! I love them a whole lot, and look forward to raising them in the way of the Lord. They never cease to amaze with their excitement. Just today, Jay was singing, "I'm in His Hands." I think he was doing it to make fun of the sacred dance that the kids at the corps do, but it was special until he started cracking up. Sammi loves to listen to Praise and Worship and make up her own sacred dance's. They are great kids, and mean the world to Elaine and I. We are grateful to the Lord for sending them our way!

It's great that you've had a chance to enjoy a father-and-children weekend. We have Sears Family movie nights too, probably 2 or 3 times a month. They are always enjoyable, even if the movies aren't! It's the company - not the entertainment - that makes the nights worthwhile.
